Just realized that I’ll be working full-time in retail hell til July, plus full-time camp counseling July and August (plus part-time retail hell, aka NO DAYS OFF FROM JULY 5-AUGUST 17 WTF), plus training for races, plus two part-time internships, plus training for WHAT/CCEL/SES/O-week, plus weekly volunteering commitments, plus weekly lessons, plus all the fun things that summer brings.
Sleep is for the weak (and boring). But actually… I think I’m going to die.
Also, side note - I love working with kids. They really do say the darndest things. I was playing Barbies (off-topic, but gosh I miss Barbies) with a few 4/5 year olds today, and one of them got two of them to kiss (well, more like Barbie groping, but children are innocent creatures, guys). Upon my suggestion of using a Ken doll instead, the child stated, “Well, it’s okay, two girls can kiss. Two boys can kiss. A girl and a boy can kiss. Everybody can kiss. Just as long as they get married first. But anyone can get married!” (Hello, quote of the day). The other two girls playing promptly agreed. I was tempted to give this girl’s parents a hug. Or an award. THIS is the kind of acceptance we need in the world, and I’m glad that atleast one person in the next generation thinks this way.
